She graduated from Hollins College and earned a Masters in Educational Psychology from the University of Florida. She
has been married 30+ years to attorney Robert Duss and they have three children (two went to Notre Dame and Univ. of South
FL Medical School and one went to Princeton). Winfield is actively involved with the St. Johns River Keeper, Colonial Dames
historical society and Tree Hill Nature Center. Her hobbies include the river, area schools, tennis, water skiing -
